Portugal just shot to the top of my must visit list thanks to your amazing post! I had no idea there were so many extraordinary palaces to see there. Your pictures are breathtaking and the text super informative. Thank you!!!
Yes, yes, yes to every one of these sites! I've visited most of them and the others are on my list for my next visit to Portugal, whenever that may be -- soon, I hope. I enthusiastically second your assertion that going to Sintra on a day trip is ludicrous. I've done that twice now, and found it naggingly unsatisfying both times. I won't make that mistake again. Next time, I'm going to book myself into a hotel or B&B in Sintra for several nights at least. As for Lisbon, one design highlight that I would add is the Museum-School of Portuguese Decorative Arts run by the Fundação Ricardo de Espìrito Santo Silva (https://www.fress.pt/en/museum/an-original-project/) . It's in a beautiful palace in the Alfama. I look forward to your upcoming Portugal posts.
Welcome! And thanks for reading! I did visit FRESS! It’s marvelous! My itinerary was so packed I decided to cover museums in another post. I can see why you liked it so much.
A return to trip to Portugal and longer in Sintra is a must for me too.
I was whizzed around with my colleagues at the Decorative Arts Trust and while we saw everything it was exhausting .
Absolute stunning record of your journey. Both the words and the pictures are so transportive!
Thank you Maria. This was a hard edit! There is more to come.
You really captured the essence of each city!
Thank you for showing it to me! And for reading.
I love your voice. I could follow you anywhere!
Idk maybe we need to plan a trip! :)). Thanks for reading.
